I began my journey at 4 but really only started to take it seriously by teach myself during my teenage years. At the age of 18, I pursued formal training for AMEB testing, which laid the foundation for my academic and professional music career.

 

Currently, I hold a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on Music and Languages, as well as a Master of Teaching - qualifying me as a high school music teacher. ​I've had 10 years of private piano teaching and 4 years of teaching in high schools.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that music is a deeply personal journey. Every student is different, and learning music should be an enjoyable and inspiring experience at every level. My goal is to offer engaging, personalized lessons that celebrate progress, creativity, and confidence.

I've been teaching piano and singing for over 20 years, and I love helping people of all ages discover the confidence and joy that music can bring. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for AMEB exams (Beginner to Grade 8), or simply wanting to learn your favourite songs, lessons are tailored to suit your goals, interests, and learning style.

 

With more than 20 years of professional performance experience, I bring practical, real-world musicianship into every lesson. My aim is to create a relaxed, positive environment where students feel encouraged to grow, challenge themselves, and most importantly, enjoy making music.

 

I welcome children, teens, and adults of all abilities, and I'd love to help you or your child begin, or continue, your musical journey.

I started piano at seven, classically trained, disciplined and by eight I quit because I was bored. At nine, my parents enrolled me in a music academy, and everything changed. Rock, pop, jazz on the keyboard - I was hooked instantly.

That joy carried me through years of hard work: academy awards, then the Silver Prize at the Second Asia Arts Festival. It proved that choosing to follow what excited me was the right thing to do. 

 

Middle and high school band classes introduced me to new instruments, while two dedicated music teachers pushed me further. One sharpened my classical technique, the other deppened my grasp of theory. Discipline and creativity, once separated, finally became one voice.

 

Today, I teach piano. Not just to pass on what I've learned, but to relive it. Revisiting fundamentals, sharing the spark that hooked me at nine, and helping a new generation find their own reason to fall in love with music.

 

The music never stopped. It just found new hands to play through.

Hi! I am a musician who started taking music lessons at a very young age as a pre-schooler. In my youth, I have pursued AMEB Piano grades ranging from AMEB Grade 3 all up to The Certificate of Performance (CMusA) finishing at the age of 13. I also was a French Horn player at the time also doing AMEB grades for that instrument. I have accumulated over 18 years of experience in music performance and music theory combined throughout my music background.

 

In my formal education background, I have completed a Bachelors of Music and Sound Design at the University of Technology Sydney; to pursue a more industry approach to music in podcast audio, radio, and marketing for music. I am currently in the process of studing at The University of New South Wales to finish my Masters of Teaching (Secondary) Degree. 

 

My music pedagogy approach in a practical environment comes from the diverse nature of the practical music experience; especially with understanding a students' learning pace, as well as their pre-existing knowledge. I believe that is extremely important to maintain the autonomy of the music lessons that I teach to ensure students feel welcomed; making learning personalised to each student.

 

A big wish of mine is to pick up the violin someday! I love learning as much as I do sharing my knowledge with others.

 

In the end, I strive to become a teacher and well spoken communicator while most importantly - enjoying the music and having fun with it!
